The Course The Course is held at the Postgraduate Medical Centre in the Royal United Hospital Bath. Timings are from 09:00 (prompt) to 13:00. Attendance is mandatory and Registrars need to attain a minimum 70% attendance record to complete the year. By the completion of the year, most of the important topics necessary for general practice will have been covered, while others will have been taught by the Trainees own Educational Supervisor. The Course Format Expert resources are recruited from local GP Trainers, hospital consultants and other professionals, including managers and accountants. Group work helps solve problems encountered by the GP Registrars in their surgeries, as well as tackling clinical subjects from a GP's perspective. Self-assessment and study of the skills of communication in General Practice are encouraged, with the help of videotaping and then analysing clinical consultations.
