Box Surgery, Tel: 01225 742361 Come and train in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty only 6 miles from Bath; home to Thomas the Tank Engine, Peter Gabriel and Box Surgery! The Practice Box is a semi-rural practice, six miles north-east of Bath. We have 2 full time and 2 part time partners and three part time salaried GPs, looking after 6400 patients, with a good age spread. There is a team of five practice nurses and two HCAs and we offer a telephone triage service for all patients requesting to be seen ‘on the day’. The nurses run chronic disease clinics in addition to the usual treatment room service. We also have a branch surgery in the neighbouring village of Colerne. The registrar has his or her own consulting room and 2-hour long tutorials are held weekly, mainly with the trainer, but also with other GPs and the Practice Manager. There are opportunities to do ‘out of hours’ sessions with various partners. We pride ourselves on being a friendly place to work and offering a broad range of experience. The Trainers Kevin Gruffydd-Jones graduated from Oxford in 1979, has been a GP trainer since 1994. Special interests – respiratory medicine, sports injuries and occupational medicine. Andrew Girdher graduated from Birmingham in 1996, has been a GP trainer since 2008. Special interests - teaching both undergraduate medical students and post registration doctors; occupational medicine.
