60 Bradford Road, Tel: 0844 4773052 The Practice Bradford Road Medical Centre is situated in the historic town of Trowbridge, located 10 mile south east of Bath. The practice is mainly town based but covers outlying rural villages within a six-mile radius. Trowbridge, the county town of Wiltshire, has an estimated population of approximately 50,000 people and is still growing. Our patient list stands at just over 10,000. We have four partners. Partners Dr Steve Rowlands interests include Post Graduate Education, Clinical Governance (PCT Lead) and Sports Medicine. He is also an associate GP Tutor and organises local PGEA events. Dr Ian Swan has been a trainer for 15 years and 3 years ago he was awarded Fellowship of the RCGP. All previous registrars have passed MRCGP. The Practice subscribes to the Bath Education Scheme. Dr Swan’s other interests include Asthma (completed NATC Diploma) Cardiology, and Therapeutics. Dr Toby Cookson joined the Practice in 1998 and works at the Royal United Hospital in Bath as a clinical assistant in Neurology. Dr Brenda Nye is part time and joined the Practice in September 1998 and has a special interest in Family Planning and Paediatrics. The Work The practice is committed to offering top quality family practice, employing 5 part time salaried GPs, a Nurse Practitioner and Practice Pharmacist as part of our clinical team and has an on site Pharmacy. We are working towards merging with another practice in the town and moving to a new state of the art premises in the next couple of years. Social Life There are many good local country pubs and the nearby Georgian City of Bath is renowned for theatres, music, the arts (with an international annual festival), and good restaurants. Trowbridge is surrounded by countryside of outstanding natural beauty. Teaching Training structured to individual needs with weekly trainer-led tutorials and a whole day release course. We have weekly business meetings and monthly Significant Event Audit, clinical and palliative care multi disciplinary meetings. Our trainee has their own room with a nice view of the car park! All partners are interested in teaching and all contribute. Other Features The Practice is PMS and has SystmOne software.
