Trainer: Dr Chris Bevan

The Practice
The Practice is located at a purpose built health centre in the North East of Bath, with a list size of 10 000 patients. We are an enthusiastic partnership keen to offer a high level of patient care. The Practice benefits from having District Nurses, Health Visitors, Chiropody, Counselling and Physiotherapy on site. The close association with these members of the primary health care team promotes effective communication and an appreciation of the skills of other health care professionals. The geographical position in the town provides the practice with an interesting and varied group of patients. We are the medical officers to the Bath Spa University College. The practice uses the EMIS computer system and has regular clinical meetings and is well supported by a team of committed staff.

Training
Fairfield Park Health Centre has a long tradition of General Practice Training. We aim to provide high quality education and appropriate practical experience with the GP Registrar playing an important and respected role as part of an enthusiastic and committed primary care team. We are committed to providing high quality training in a supportive and friendly environment.

The excellent half Day Release Course with meetings at Bath is very popular with Registrars. Our close proximity to the Royal United Hospital allows easy access for clinical meetings and enables Registrars to make use of the facilities at the hospital. Teaching is learner centred with regular tutorials, joint surgeries and protected teaching time. There is a wide range of teaching facilities and resources at the practice.

The Registrar is well supported throughout the training year and has their own dedicated consulting room and Internet access.
