The Town
Corsham is a quiet unspoilt market town, 9 miles east of Bath and 4.5 miles west of Chippenham. It owes it’s prosperity to the wool trade and quarrying Bath stone.
About Us
The Porch Surgery is the only general practice in the town and surrounding villages. The surgery was purpose built in 1991 and due to the increase in population a recent extension has been built providing a further 4 consulting rooms. Our list size is stable at approximately 12,000 patients.
The Practice provides all essential and additional services including private practitioners offering services such as Osteopathy, Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Homeopathy etc. We also have a thriving Patient Participation Group.
Information Technology plays an important role at the Practice. Our clinical system is TPP/SystmOne which allows our patients to book appointments, request repeat prescriptions and change addresses on-line. We are ‘Paper Light’ accredited, have our own Intranet, support the concept of Choose and Book and request and receive pathology tests electronically.
The Team
We have 6 GP Partners and 2 Salaried GPs, a Practice Manager (Partner) and a Nurse Manager (Partner). There is also a nursing team of 6 and an administrative team of 17.
Our Trainers, Dr Starr and Dr Munnelly welcome all GP trainees.
